Conejos River Fly Fishing Tackle ShopMay 27, 2006 A quick update from the Conejos River tonight. The water levels on the Los Pinos and the La Jara are hitting perfect. Caddis have started on the La Jara and the black stones should be on the water any day now on the Los Pinos. The flows out of Platoro Reservoir on the Conejos River are 148, that is a great flow to fish the upper river. (No Pinnacles yet) The lower river is down to 800 and clearing. Fish continue to gorge on stonefly nymphs. The nymphs are very active right now and we should see the big bugs in a week or two. Cooler weather on the way should continue to drive the Conejos towards perfect fishing levels. Water temps to 54 degrees on the Conejos and Los Pinos. As soon as tomorrow ends one of the best rivers in the state will again return to a lonely river. Dont miss this June. It should be fantastic!
